Drake names new Cost Estimating Manager/Process Engineer

Drake Enterprises (DEI)a leading-edge auto and heavy truck torque transferring product supplier to Fiat Chrysler, Eaton and IFA Rotorion, today announced it has named James Newport it’s new Cost Estimating Manager/Process Engineer.
Jim Newport joined Drake in January of 2018. He comes to Drake with over 30 years of automotive machining experience. Jim was most recently Engineering Manager at a large Michigan based Machining operation in Macomb. He brings with him extensive experience in launching various CNC machines for new OEM programs. He lead an engineering team in the implementation of many robotic automation applications and created a process flow for many automotive and non- automotive parts and projects.
Mr. Newport is very knowledgeable in the areas of cost estimating and new project implementation. He’s been responsible for cost estimating large OEM contracts and managed and maintained PFMEA’s, process flow, and equipment tracking.
We’re pleased to have Jim join the Drake team as he will be primarily responsible for leading the cost estimating process group at Drake. He will supervise Drakes process/marketing analyst Brandon Miner.
Mr. Newport will also be responsible for the continuous cost and process improvement efforts in the highly competitive world of automotive supply.
